There are signs of increasing stability in Helmand Province - one of the most dangerous British-controlled areas of Afghanistan. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan has at best 1,200 days before it transfers security to local forces and Police. A Company of the 2nd Battalion the Royal Gurkha Rifles arrived at their Nahr-e Saraj patrol base in May. They have started to forge good relations with local people and the Afghan soldiers they share a base with.
