Мара is a Ukrainian dark folk horror metal song about the old nightmare spirit who comes through sleep. People told the tale: Mara comes at night, drinks the dream, freezes the body, and leads the living into the depth. The narrator laughs at the village stories until the room turns black, the eyes appear in the corner, and the body no longer answers. This song is built as a fatal sleep-paralysis confession: deep harsh male baritone, close female white voice as Mara, crushing symphonic doom guitars, low cellos, drone bagpipes, frame drum pressure, and no dawn release.
