■Theme: "Cancer Survivor Conversation: Kazuo Hasegawa x Shinsuke Kasai" The theme of this 20th episode is the eighth installment of our "Cancer Survivor Conversation" series. Our guest is Kazuo Hasegawa, Chairman of the NPO Lung Cancer Patients' Association One Step and Chairman of the Japan Lung Cancer Patients Association. In 2010, at the age of 39, Hasegawa was diagnosed with stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma. He underwent a complete right pneumonectomy in 2012 and abdominal metastasis in 2015, undergoing numerous treatments. Furthermore, as Chairman of the Lung Cancer Patients' Association One Step, Hasegawa has engaged in a wide range of patient support activities. We'll hear from him, uniquely, about the physical and mental changes that occur before and after a cancer diagnosis, how he interacts with society, and his outlook for the future. ■Guest Kazuo Hasegawa Living in Kanagawa Prefecture. Age 50. Lung cancer. Stage 4. It has been 12 years since he was diagnosed with the disease in 2010.
