Momma was a Dopefiend by Bruiser Wolf. This was one of those last minute shows we got a call for because one of the opening acts couldn't make it that night. Bruiser Wolf from Detroit was the headliner. I had not heard of Bruiser Wolf so I went in with an open mind. I'll tell ya, this clip here is one of the most honest, vulnerable, heartfelt Hip Hop verses I've heard all year. In fact, it was so hard for Bruiser Wolf to perform because it hit so close to home, he had to start over several times. With the support of this Atlanta audience, he pulls it together and gets through the song. And when I say "close to home", I mean the song is about his mama, who was a drug addict, and how he's dealt with it as a child as well as now. Not the sort of thing you'd expect to hear in a verse. But the man really made an impact on that 529 audience that night.
