In today's video, I'll show you how to get to Machu Picchu in the cheapest way and, most importantly, how VERY easy it is to buy tickets for Machu Picchu in 2026 🇵🇪 We left Cusco at 6 am with the company Peru Andean Hop. A car picked us up at the hostel and took us to a square, where we boarded the bus that would take us all the way to the hydroelectric plant. During the trip we passed through incredible landscapes and very beautiful cities. One of them was Ollantaytambo, which has a famous train station. The city is beautiful, but this time we only passed through it, continuing our journey. In some sections the road was quite tense, with narrow roads and cliffs, giving that feeling that the bus could fall off the cliff 😅. After several stops along the way, we arrived at the hydroelectric plant around 1 pm. From there, we started the trail to Aguas Calientes, walking about 11 km along the train tracks. We crossed bridges, saw the trains passing very close (and they are VERY expensive), which explains why this is considered the cheapest way to get to Machu Picchu. We arrived in Aguas Calientes around 4 pm and went straight to the Ministry of Culture to buy the ticket in person. After strikes and Machu Picchu almost losing its title as one of the 7 wonders of the world, the process has changed considerably. 👉 In 2026 it's very easy to buy the ticket: Just go to the Ministry of Culture in person and you can easily buy the ticket for the next day. We paid about 160 soles, using a credit card, and bought the ticket for Circuit 3, with entry at 7 am. Circuit 2 is considered the best by many people, but there was only availability for the late afternoon.
