IJ DOK, un quartier spectaculaire au bord du fleuve IJ à Amsterdam

IJ Dock, à l'ouest du centre-ville d'Amsterdam, se trouve sur un étroit morceau de terrain (89000m2) avec deux rangées de bâtiments séparés par une rue centrale ressemblant à un canyon. À une extrémité se trouve une paire de bâtiments reliés par un pont du 5e étage. Ceux-ci abritent le Palais et le ministère de la Justice. Il y a trois autres bâtiments sur le quai. À l'extérieur, à côté du corps principal de l'IJ, sont, dans l'ordre : Le bloc Ij Dock Housing conçu par Zeinestra van Gelderen Architecten et achevé en janvier 2013. Comme l'expliquent les architectes, "... Les appartements ont deux côtés : l'un s'ouvre sur l'eau, tandis que l'autre faisant face à la rue est plus clos. Du côté de l'eau, une façade pliante de 7 mètres de large offre aux espaces de vie un contact maximal avec l'eau : pas seulement la vue, mais aussi le vent, le son et l'odeur. À côté se trouve les bureaux du quai IJ qui abrite, entre autres, la police de l'eau d'Amsterdam. Les architectes étaient une fois de plus Zeinestra van Gelderen Architecten et il a été achevé en août 2012. "Dans le hall d'entrée de la police, on trouve un escalier triangulaire avec un vide, reliant les quatre étages de cette station. .... De l'autre côté de la rue de ces deux bâtiments se trouve l'hôtel Room Mate Aitana. L'hôtel et la marina de 285 chambres pour environ 60 bateaux ont été conçus par Bakers Architecten, en collaboration avec l'architecte Ben Loerakker et achevés en 2013. At one end is a pair of buildings connected by a bridge on the 5th floor. These are home to the Palace and the Ministry of Justice. There are three other buildings on the dock. Outside, next to the main body of the IJ, are, in order: The Ij Dock Housing block designed by Zeinestra van Gelderen Architecten and completed in January 2013. As the architects explain, "... The apartments have two sides: one opens onto the water, while the other facing the street is more enclosed. On the water side, a 7-meter-wide folding facade offers living spaces maximum contact with water: not only the view, but also the wind, sound and smell. Next to it are the offices of the IJ dock which houses, among others, the Amsterdam water police. The architects were once again Zeinestra van Gelderen Architecten and it was completed in August 2012. "In the police entrance hall, there is a triangular staircase with a void, connecting the four floors of this station. .... On the other side of the street of these two buildings is the Room Mate Aitana hotel.
