Preparing a new White Belt for his first Tournament

In this video, I'm helping John, a 22-year-old white belt with only 4 months of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience, prepare for his very first tournament. John mentioned that many of the competitors in his division have wrestling backgrounds, so we discuss a simple game plan designed to give him the best chance of success. I explain why pulling guard, looking for a sweep, and attacking with a triangle can be an effective strategy against strong wrestlers. After going over the game plan, we roll together so I can help him troubleshoot a few posture and positional mistakes, making small adjustments that could make a big difference on competition day. If you're a new white belt getting ready for your first tournament, or you're looking for practical competition advice, I hope you find something here that helps your own game. 👍 If you enjoyed the video, please like, comment, and subscribe for more narrated rolls, BJJ instruction, and content focused on helping grapplers of all ages improve.
