ERA WODNIKA w Teatrze Dramatycznym
Have the hippies lost? Or have they simply matured? What remains of their dreams of freedom, community, and spiritual awakening? Where are the children of the sun, the prophets of love, the rebels of LSD and protest songs today? Do they still believe that the world can be changed—or have they ended up in yoga leggings and breathing classes, having given up on the fight for a better tomorrow for all? "Age of Aquarius" is a musical journey in the footsteps of a generation that believed that love was enough to save the world. That everything could be changed: through music and the rebellious slogan "make love, not war." What remains of this revolution? What have we repressed, and what have we inherited unnoticed? Has utopia faded like paint on a psychedelic poster? Cast: Waldemar Barwiński, Anna Gajewska, Anna Karolina Gorajska, Marianna Linde, Kamil Mróz, Agata Różycka, Piotr Siwkiewicz, Anna Szymańczyk, Krzysztof Szczepaniak, Paweł Tomaszewski, Mateusz Weber, Łukasz Wójcik. Live music: Kamil Pater and Jacek Prościński The play tells the story of the heirs of the flower children, who search for meaning in a time when the only constant in life is updating their phone's operating system. It is also the story of the hippies of the Polish People's Republic – those who, in a country without consumerism, rebelled against oppression, the system, and the grayness of life. The police followed them, the propaganda ridiculed them – yet they danced in squares, formed communes, and planted tents and flowers where walls were supposed to grow. "Age of Aquarius" is a journey through time and continents. A journey not only into the world of colorful myth, but also a confrontation with what remains of it. It's a clash between the dream world of over 50 years ago and the brutal reality of the 21st century. It's a story about a world that hasn't gotten any better—but still has the potential to do so. It's a story about how much we all—regardless of age—long for love, peace, and freedom—for a place where we can simply be ourselves.
