Heart Route 99 Stage 1 What's there to see: I didn't start from Lausanne, where the stage begins. The reason is that I already know this route, and another stage of a different route also went along it. Secondly, I wanted to save kilometers to arrive at my overnight accommodation early and without stress. This stage (even before my starting point at the train station) climbs steadily uphill. It ascends 430 meters from Lausanne to the highest point in about 15 kilometers. There was plenty of variety with both uphill and downhill sections. Drinking fountains were few and far between on this stage. There were shady spots here and there, even when going through short stretches of forest. Why do I make videos about cycling and hiking? I want to see more of Switzerland and experience it by bike or on foot, and show you what there is to see on these tours.
