ISSAI SRP 2026 | Audio-Visual Recognition Track

ISSAI Data Scientist Rakhat Meiramov and Junior Data Scientist Adema Sharipova are leading the Audio-Visual Recognition track, mentoring a group of nine students. In the first week, the students studied the fundamentals of machine learning and how neural networks work. Then they moved on to transformer architectures and speech recognition systems, exploring how transformer technologies form the foundation of modern large language models such as ChatGPT and Oylan from ISSAI. Their final project BTS Body-to-Speech is aimed at building a system that converts sign language into speech. This project allows students to apply their knowledge in practice and understand how artificial intelligence technologies can improve accessibility and help people in real life. In five weeks, the students will defend their final projects in front of their peers and professors. After successfully defending their projects, participants will receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation signed by ISSAI General Director and the Inaugural Dean of NU SCAI, Prof. Atakan Varol. We look forward to seeing you at the final project presentations.
