I wanted to use these she-camels to bring izhir (reed used for kindling fire) to sell it. With me was a sa'iq (jeweler) from Banu Qaynuqa (a Jewish tribe that lived in Medina at that time), and I wanted to use this to make a wedding feast for my marriage to Fatima. At that time, Hamza ibn Muttalib (his uncle, his father's brother) was drinking wine in that house, and he had a singer who was singing, and she said: "O Hamza, rush towards these fat, plump camels!" And Hamza went towards those camels, rushed forward with a sword in his hand, and cut off their humps, and ripped open their bellies, and took their livers and carried them away with the humps." And Ali says that when he returned, he was horrified by what he saw.
