When we escaped that toxic environment to this small apartment, we started with nothing—eating off cardboard boxes on the floor. I decided never to put a TV in our new home. Instead, we chose a small projector on the ceiling. Now, we finally have the freedom to decide what we watch, laugh together, and respect each other's space without walking on eggshells. We may have left behind a big house with expensive things, but here in this small sanctuary, we have found what truly matters: safety, trust, and absolute freedom.
