Wastegate, grande ou pequena? - FT Education Responde #53

The wastegate valve's function is to control turbo pressure by relieving pressure in the exhaust manifold, thus reducing the RPM of the shaft and consequently the compressor wheel of the turbine. This is one way to control turbo pressure. When the wastegate doesn't have the capacity (diameter and valve stroke) to vent all the exhaust gases generated by the engine, we lose control. Another reason could be the incorrect position in the exhaust manifold, which can also generate backflow. The wastegate must always be positioned in the direction of exhaust manifold flow.
