MEDIEVAL 2 TOTAL WAR 2024 REVIEW: The BEST Or Too Old To Enjoy?

I’ve played all of the Total War games. From the earliest with Shogun 2 and Medieval to modern day with Warhammer 3 and Pharaoh. I’ve been through all the ups and downs of the series, I know about all the lost features, mechanics, all the mods that have come and gone and more. And through it all, the majority of the community all agrees that Medieval 2 is probably the best the series has ever seen. In today’s video I want to explore why that is. How even after almost 20 years is Medieval 2 Total War still regarded as the crown jewel of Total War. Looking at the main campaign, the expansion campaigns, the gameplay mechanics, the mods, weighing up the many positives here as well as of course the clear flaws or where it doesn’t do so well compared to modern games at least. This is my definitive review of Medieval 2 in 2024 and by the end you’ll know whether I think it truly is the goat of Total War or whether most people are simply nostalgic.
