Every watering can was worth it! & First large tomato harvest of the season 🍅 UK Allotment

The second prolonged heatwave of the summer is making work on the allotment incredibly challenging. With little to no rain and very high temperatures, it's becoming a battle to keep everything alive. Thankfully, all the hard work is paying off! In this week's allotment update I begin with planting my Christmas potatoes (Charlotte variety). I also talk about coping with ongoing drought, daily hand watering, and why mulching is so important during hot weather. I talk about what organic mulching materials I use. I have my first large tomato harvest of the season, also harvest a beautiful broccoli, plenty of cucumbers, gherkins, courgettes, sweet peppers and give update on my greenhouse watermelons weighing roughly 1.5kg each already! Take a walk with me around the allotment as I show how everything is growing despite the extreme weather including plants on my three arches: Grapevine arch, Pumpkin arch and Climbing Flower arch. If you enjoyed the video, give it a thumbs up and subscribe for my weekly updates from my allotment, based in Coventry, UK. Thank you very much for watching!
