Everywhere I go, people ask me: how do I start reading comics? The only way to start reading comics is to just pick one up. It’s been a great year for the industry as it feels like we’re entering a new boom period with more people than EVER interested in the medium thanks to the Ultimate and Absolute universes making bold decisions. I know it can be overwhelming at times because Marvel and DC each have a sea of their own comics that it can feel like you’re drowning in choices, and that’s not even getting into the incredible indie comics constantly releasing, so I wanted to do something different to help out. As we rapidly approach the end of the year at a rate that is quickly sending me spiraling into madness, I thought it would be fun to talk about my favorite comics from 2025!
