Locomotives in Review, Santa Fe 5011, Episode 08
Built in 1944 by the Baldwin locomotive works for the Santa Fe the 5011 was a part of the last class of steam locomotives built for the Santa Fe. The locomotive would be one of the largest rigid frame locomotives built for the Santa Fe. The locomotive was primarily used for freight, but because of the engine's large drivers the locomotive would find itself pulling passenger trains from time to time. The locomotive would retired off the atsf in 1959 and would be later donated to NMOT Sources: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa... https://locomotive.fandom.com/wiki/AT...
