My 2-Year-Old's First Kite… And Dad's Belated Birthday — Mom Life in Okinawa

🪁 Today was Dad's day off — so we finally celebrated his birthday (it fell on a workday, so we couldn't do much then). A sushi lunch out, and then... our 2-year-old flew a kite for the very first time! It wouldn't catch the wind at the first park, so we chased a breezier spot — and up it went. Just another ordinary, beautiful day with our family of 4 + 1 cat in Okinawa. 💙 📍 Filmed in Okinawa, Japan 🍽️ Today's Menu ☀️ Breakfast — Bread for the boys / coffee & yogurt granola for us 🍣 Lunch (out) — Hama Sushi: tamagoyaki, chutoro, hamachi, kakiage & a slice of cake (Dad's "birthday cake"!) 🍗 Dinner — Homemade cheesy macaroni gratin & karaage 🧀 Recipe — Easy Cheesy Macaroni Gratin (serves 4) Ingredients: • Macaroni — 150g • Chicken or shrimp — 150g • Onion — 1, sliced • Butter — 2 tbsp / Flour — 2 tbsp / Milk — 400ml • Salt, pepper / Shredded cheese — to taste Steps: 1. Boil the macaroni; sauté onion + chicken in butter. 2. Stir in flour, then slowly add milk to make a white sauce. 3. Mix in the macaroni, season, pour into a dish. 4.
