RTVMARCHENA PUBLISHES Following the signing yesterday of the collaboration agreement between ADIF (Spain's railway infrastructure manager) and the City Council for the use and operation of the Marchena Train Station, the keys were officially handed over to the mayor this Wednesday morning. The mayor expressed her enthusiasm and gratitude, as this agreement, thanks to the City Council's involvement, will allow the station to meet a long-standing citizen demand for its continued availability, as it has always been. The station will be open from approximately 6:00 a.m. until midnight, serving all trains, from the first to the last, that stop in the town. A QR code will be available at the station, providing up-to-date and detailed information on train routes. Mayor María del Mar Romero Aguilar was accompanied at this event by the Manager of the Heritage and Urban Planning Area of ​​ADIF (Spain's railway infrastructure manager), Enrique Borrego Velázquez, as well as the Deputy Director of Southern Stations of ADIF, María Encarnación Redondo Cid, along with technicians and other municipal representatives. This agreement has secured another commitment from ADIF to soon launch a tender for a project worth over €100,000, with a five-month execution period, for the renovation and improvement of restrooms and the facade, among other works. Furthermore, efforts will be made to repurpose the old Cantina building, which will be used as a cultural and leisure space for young people. During this appearance, the mayor reiterated the importance of having a canopy on platform 1 of track 1, which she hopes will soon become a reality thanks to ADIF's positive response.
