Using What's Around You: 2023 Encaustic Part V

The objects and things I have around my studio provides the opportunity for a fun challenge: the challenge of dreaming up a fresh, unconventional way of arriving at a visual solution. This time, I had some spare string and razor blades– notably, some things I decide to use are not necessarily "art tools." I can paint/create lines any number of ways, but this time I chose to use string lain across the panel. Razor blade techniques partnered with encaustic can produce a plethora of distinct effects. Learning more and more "ways of doing something" can not only cultivate authentic creativity in ourselves, but can add great depth–and freedom–to the work. Music by: @Bensound.com. Thank you!
