I'll be talking about the social reintegration of people with depression. Specifically, I'll be talking about returning to work after taking a leave of absence, not attending school, or being withdrawn from society. ◾️What is depression? What kind of illness is depression? It's caused by various social and everyday issues, which can lead to stress and physical and mental fatigue, inflammation in the brain, and accumulated fatigue, which can lead to depression. When the brain stops functioning properly, it becomes depressed. This is what we call depression. Some people may experience depression combined with panic attacks, but this is what it means to be depressed. When you become depressed, you lose your appetite, you can't sleep, you lose motivation, you become afraid of people, you lose confidence, and you can't go out. That's what it means. As a result, you may be unable to go to work, skip school, or become unable to leave the house. As for how treatment works, first of all, it's inflammation in the brain, and since this inflammation is the result of accumulated fatigue, you need to relieve the fatigue. That's why you need to get plenty of rest. It takes quite a long time for the brain to recover. For example, if a young person has muscle pain, it might heal in a day or two, but an older person might take a week, but muscles heal quickly. The liver also recovers quickly. Even if your liver function is poor, if you abstain from alcohol and have been doing so for a while, it will heal in less than a month. However, it takes time for bones, ligaments and tendons, and the brain to heal. With depression, it takes months for fatigue and inflammation to subside. There's a saying that goes, "one hour in the emergency room, one day in internal medicine, and one month in psychiatry." With the flu, it usually takes about a week. You usually recover in about a week to a week and a half, or about 10 days, but in psychiatry, 10 days in internal medicine means 10 months in psychiatry. So it feels like recovery is slow. The benefit of taking medication is that it shortens the recovery period. You get better faster, and your depression lifts a little, that's the idea. It's like fertilizer when growing a plant. They say they don't feel any effect, but continuing to take it speeds up recovery, so that's why I'm saying it's a good idea to take it. I think it's good to think of it this way. ◾️How does recovery work? So, how does recovery actually work? First, you feel unwell and decide to take time off work, or rest, but when you first start your leave, you feel a sudden drop in your health. When you start your leave of absence, you feel a sudden drop in your health. You think, "Well, wouldn't it have been better if I had stayed working?" or "I should have gone to school?" but you're already pushed to the limit, so just when you think you can rest, you feel a sudden drop in your health. It's like when you're running a marathon and your body and mind are completely worn out, but you keep going, and you somehow manage to hang on with willpower, but after you cross the finish line, you suddenly feel exhausted and can't move, and you feel a sudden drop in your health. It's when you feel a drop in your health that you can start to rest, that's when you feel like you're resting. ...
