They see their children grow up and thrive around them; they look with joy at their offspring.” – Job 21:7-8 (NIV) Chapter twenty-one introduces us to one of Job’s most frank and impactful responses. After listening to the rigid pronouncements of his companions, who insisted that the wicked always suffer immediately, the patriarch decides to dismantle this simplistic theology by showing the stark reality of life. With great honesty, Job describes how many people who live completely turned away from the Almighty enjoy a peaceful old age, see their families grow in peace, and multiply their wealth without setbacks. At first glance, the situation seems unfair and contradictory, causing profound astonishment in the grieving patriarch's soul as he sees that earthly well-being does not always coincide with the uprightness of the heart. This observation invites us to reflect on a silent unease that sometimes assails the thoughts of Christian women. As the days go by, looking around, you notice people who neglect biblical principles, who profane the sacred hours of the Sabbath, or who act selfishly, and yet seem to enjoy enviable stability, travel, luxuries, and apparent family tranquility. At the same time, you return home tired after attending to household chores, striving to maintain devotion in your home and coping with scarcity or the wear and tear of routine. Discouragement tries to take advantage of this disparity to sow doubt, making you think that your sacrifices for the faith are in vain. The great lesson this morning is that the temporary success the world offers lacks eternal roots and cannot guarantee peace of mind. Job recognized that even if the wicked spend their days in prosperity, their lamp will eventually go out, and their fate is subject to the judgment of the Heavenly Throne. True blessing lies not in material abundance, but in the security of having one's name written in the Book of Life. When you choose to begin your day seeking the Master's presence, your perspective rises above appearances. God grants you the contentment and clarity to appreciate the spiritual legacy you are building in your home, remembering that earthly riches turn to dust, but faithfulness produces fruit that lasts forever. Ellen G. White left us valuable counsel to safeguard our confidence against the apparent advantages of ungodliness: “We should not envy the prosperity of those who do not fear God, nor allow their apparent successes to weaken our faith… Many live surrounded by luxuries but with a deep spiritual dryness in their hearts, unaware that earthly treasures are fleeting. The Savior desires that we fix our affections on heavenly realities. If we maintain our communion with Him, the Holy Spirit will infuse our minds with a superior peace that dispels all discontent, enabling us to live gratefully in our tent and reminding us that our final reward surpasses any human glory” (Steps to Christ, p. 116). This promise sustains the spirit. Before you begin attending to today's duties and immerse yourself in the rhythm of home life, embrace with faith the promise of the apostle Paul in Galatians 6:9, which reminds us: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Walk with your head held high, trusting fully in the marvelous providence of your Creator, and rest in the certainty that your silent faithfulness has eternal value in God's eyes. ========================= Morning Devotional for Adults 2026 Morning Devotional for Youth 2026 Morning Devotional for Women 2026 Morning Devotional for Teens 2026 Morning Devotional for Children 2026 Morning Devotional for Toddlers 2026 Revived by His Word 2026 ============= Morning Meditations 2026 Morning Devotional 2026 Christian Morning Devotionals 2026 Today's Devotional 2026 Christian Devotionals My Devotional 2026 Christian Messages Devotional Readings 2026 Ellen G.
