I TRIED a Salt Painting… It Did NOT Go to Plan

A simple watercolor-and-salt landscape turned into a full‑blown art adventure. It all started beautifully — blue washes, sparkling salt blooms, soft green fields and tree shapes. Everything was calm, magical, and completely on track. Then the heat of the day arrived… and the gold acrylic decided to rebel. Paint dragged, dried mid‑stroke, and fought every brush movement. The white Posca pooled into blobs, the black Posca slurged out like it had been waiting to cause chaos, and every “fix” became a new feature. In the end, once everything dried, a clean border pulled the whole piece together — a frame for the chaos, a finish for the struggle, and a reminder that sometimes the most unpredictable paintings tell the best stories. If you enjoy watching art misbehave, this one’s for you.‪@HayleyRobertsArt‬
