The Secret History of Disney's Roads (and How They Changed Florida Forever)
Roads are the reason that Disney is what it is today. In fact, Walt Disney chose the site for his future theme park because of the close proximity to roads and the access it would offer millions of potential guests. But the roads at Disney so often get overlooked by the more exciting topics. Until now. I'm a civil engineer who loves Disney and today, we're doing a deep dive into the roads that shaped the Florida project, and how Disney made some major changes right back. Because you may not realize but Disney maintains miles and miles of roadway, they created their own custom signage, and they even got the Florida DOT to build 3 major interchanges to their property.
