Don’t Let One Sharp Word Ruin Your Day / Morning Prayer

One sharp word can change the atmosphere of an entire day. This morning prayer is for the person who wants God to guard their words, tone, reactions, messages, conversations, and the heart behind every sentence. Before the first reply, the first message, the first correction, or the first tired tone slips out, pause and ask God to guard the doorway of your lips. This prayer is rooted in Psalm 141:3, James 1:19, Proverbs 15:1, and Colossians 4:6. Psalm 141:3 asks God to set a guard over our mouth and keep watch over the door of our lips.
