Jesus teaching Week 3 Theme 2 FAITH from gospel of Mark

“Welcome back to Week 3 of our Gospel of Mark teaching and series, Following Jesus Through the Gospel of Mark. Last week, we studied the theme of love. We saw that Jesus loves with compassion, truth, attention, and action. He touched the rejected, noticed the suffering, welcomed children, and taught us to love God and our neighbors. Today, we are moving to our second major teaching theme: faith, Faith is one of the most important themes in the Gospel of Mark. But sometimes people misunderstand faith. Some think faith means never being afraid. Others think faith means God will always answer exactly the way we want. Some think faith means pretending problems are not real. But biblical faith is different. Faith means trusting Jesus even when life is hard. Faith means bringing our needs to Him. Faith means believing that Jesus is present, powerful, and good, even when we do not understand everything. Today we will look at several stories in Mark where people needed faith: • A paralyzed man whose friends brought him to Jesus. • The disciples in a storm. • Jairus, whose daughter was dying. • A suffering woman who reached out to touch Jesus. • A father who cried out, ‘I believe; help my unbelief.’ These stories teach us that faith is not always perfect, but faith brings us to Jesus.”
