23 Mites Found | Oxalic Acid Vapor Treatment | Beekeeping 101

One of my hives came back with 23 mites out of 300 bees after a mite wash, well above the treatment threshold. That means it is time to treat immediately. In this video I walk through the full oxalic acid vaporization process using the InstaVap Lite vaporizer and EZ-OX oxalic acid, which is approved for use with honey supers on. I show each step from loading the oxalic acid to placing the vaporizer, sealing the entrance, and timing the treatment. One important thing to note is that a single treatment is not enough to truly knock down the mite population.
