Like mentioned in the previous upload, this route came at this time as a result of a schedule change that was made official on March 4. During the midday hours, trains operate only to and from Penn Station. Something I found that was unique about this branch was the single track as there are not many branches in LIRR that I know of that have one track these days. The Ronkonkoma Branch recently had a facelift which added a second track to that branch in Suffolk County when each of the stations went through renovations. That’s a good thing because now capacity can be increased. For years when I went to my aunt’s house in Long Beach, I knew that there was an LIRR branch that I would cross as I crossed Ocean Av towards Long Beach, but I never knew where this branch went to when we were in Malverne, now I do. This goes to show that when I was a lot younger, I didn’t know too much about Long Island Railroad. The thing I knew the most about was the subway because I took it all the time towards school when I was a little kid but this is a good experience for my first ride on this branch.
