MyCP Webinar: Etiology of Cerebral Palsy and Functional Outcomes at Age Six
Doctors Joyce Oleszek and Wendy Pierce present findings from a new Cerebral Palsy Research Network study titled: “Etiology of Cerebral Palsy Is Associated with Functional Outcomes at 6 Years of Age: A Clinical Registry Study.” Doctors Oleszek and Pierce are both pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation clinicians at Children’s Colorado. Joyce Oleszek, MD and Wendy Pierce, MD, co-investigators and co-authors of the study, will discuss how the underlying cause—or etiology—of cerebral palsy is associated with functional mobility later in childhood. Drawing from a retrospective analysis of the CP Research Network’s clinical registry, the study examined data from more than 1,200 individuals with CP to explore the connection between early brain injury types and gross motor function at age six and beyond.
