Nuo opera is China's first protected intangible cultural heritage. It has a history of thousands of years. It is a living fossil of Chinese opera culture. Nuo opera is a kind of opera developed from Nuo dance. Actors often wear masks representing gods, and some areas wear face makeup. The performances are relatively primitive, and the music is mostly accompanied by gongs and drums, and vocal accompaniment. The performance time is mostly on specific festivals, and usually no performances. Mainly spread in the Yellow River Basin, the Yangtze River Basin and the southwest region, including Han, Dong, Miao, Zhuang, Yao, Yi, Tujia, Buyi, Gelao, Tibetan, Monba, Mongolian and other ethnic groups. 傩戏是中国第一批保护的非物质文化遗产，已经有几千年的历史，它是中国戏曲文化的活化石。 傩戏是由傩舞发展而来的戏曲剧种。演员多佩戴代表神灵的面具，部分地区则涂面化妆。表演动作较为原始，音乐多用锣鼓伴奏、人声帮和。演出时间多在特定节日，平时一般不表演。主要流传于黄河流域、长江流域和西南地区，包括汉、侗、苗、壮、瑶、彝、土家、布依、仡佬、藏、门巴、蒙古等民族。
