Malta erleben - Blue Grotto - Erst Abbruch, dann Bootsfahrt ins Paradies!

The Blue Grotto in Malta is one of the island's most famous natural highlights. Turquoise waters, towering cliffs, sea caves, and that unique blend of light, sea, and limestone. But we didn't just want to admire the Blue Grotto from a viewpoint—we wanted to hike to it. According to Komoot, our route from the interior through a valley towards the Blue Grotto was supposed to be an easy hike. To be honest, it was no walk in the park for us. The path became rockier, steeper, and considerably more adventurous than expected. Just before reaching our destination, we had to turn back because it became too treacherous and slippery. But that's precisely what made this day in Malta so special: first, the rugged landscape in the valley, then the view of the Blue Grotto from above—and finally, the boat trip from Wied iż-Żurrieq into this fascinating world of rock and water. A truly authentic Malta experience, a mix of hiking adventures, a near-miss, a viewpoint, and a boat trip that truly blew us away.
