The final stretch of the 2021 season takes place on the pure Hidaka River, flowing through the mountains of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. The Ryujin area in the upper reaches is renowned for its ayu (sweetfish) fishing, boasting some of the best aromas and flavors in the Kansai region, satisfying the senses of countless anglers. Local angler Yasutaka Hirooka was born on the banks of the Hidaka River. He learned ayu fishing and honed his skills here, and with his signature live bait fishing technique, he's catching one beautiful ayu after another! This program aired on October 3, 2021.
