On August 13, 2007, Alberto Stasi entered the house at Via Pascoli 8 in Garlasco and found the body of his girlfriend Chiara Poggi. But that morning, on the bloody floor, his shoes left no trace. The floor mats of his Golf tested negative for luminol. And for the Milan Court of Assizes of Appeal, that was enough: Stasi did not enter. Stasi lied. Stasi is the culprit. Then came the Testi expert report, which stated that the probability that Stasi had walked through the house without stepping on blood was 0.00038 percent. Practically zero. And today, in light of the new investigations, that certainty in the case is showing cracks that cannot be ignored. The sole used in the experiments was not Stasi's. The subject who simulated walking weighed twenty kilos more. The blood was mostly dry when it was found. The shoes were seized nineteen hours later—after hours of walking on asphalt, gravel, and grass. And on that bloody floor, in the original 2007 photographs, there is a V-shaped mark that the Cagliari RIS deemed worthy of technical investigation in 2025. A mark compatible with the sole of Alberto Stasi's Lacoste shoes. If that mark were his, it would mean that Stasi entered exactly as he always said.
