Back In Scotland… LEJOG Day 4 | Voge DS625X Adventure Continues
LEJOG Day 4 on the Voge DS625X — and this was the day I crossed back into Scotland for the first time in 18 years. After leaving Keswick, I headed north through some incredible scenery, with a few tired moments, a forgotten helmet strap or two, and that growing feeling that the journey was starting to reach a very different stage. Crossing the border into Scotland was a proper emotional moment. The last time I passed that sign was back in 2008, riding Land’s End to John O’Groats with my dad on 125cc motorcycles. This time, I was back on the Voge DS625X, carrying his memory with me and continuing the ride north in support of Help for Heroes. From there, the day continued through Gretna and on towards Glasgow, with memories from the original trip coming back along the way — including the last time Dad and I rode into Glasgow and tried, unsuccessfully, to find somewhere to camp. Day 4 ended with the bike parked up, a catch-up with an old friend, and the knowledge that Day 5 would be one of the biggest and most emotional days of the whole journey. This journey is in memory of my dad, recreating a ride we completed together back in 2008 on 125cc motorcycles.
