From $1,500 Last Year to THIS?! 😳 Crochet Market Day Reality | Market Vlog and Recap

✨ ITS CRAFT FAIR SEASON! ✨ I went into this market with HIGH hopes after making almost $1,500 at this same event last May… but this year turned out VERY different. This is a monthly market that occurs on the second Friday of the month from May–September. I usually average around $700–800 here. Since last year’s May market was one of my best events EVER, I packed up over $7,040 worth of crochet inventory hoping to recreate that success 👀 But after the FIRST HOUR… I had only made $44 in sales 😭 With only 4 hours to sell and a goal of at least $750+, I started getting seriously nervous. Thankfully, I’ve done this market enough times to know the crowd usually picks up around 6–7PM… but even then, sales stayed much slower than expected. By the end of the night, I only sold $457 total — making this officially my WORST market ever at this location 💔 After subtracting booth fees, cost of goods sold, and other vending expenses, I actually PROFITED -$5.56. There were definitely a few things working against vendors this time: 🧶 FOUR amigurumi vendors out of only 50 vendors 📣 A new market coordinator 📉 Much lower attendance and slower traffic than previous years The biggest trend this weekend? Small items sold BEST! My Pocket Pals and new Critterlings were the stars of the booth 🥹 while my typical $18-$25 best sellers and larger plushies sold only occasionally. And my ceramic herb strippers were once again one of my top sellers 🌿 Thankfully, I had another market the very next day to stay hopeful (that vlog is coming soon 👀).
