"Land der Berge, Land am Strome" ("Land of Mountains, Land on the River") has been the national anthem of the (Second) Austrian Republic since 1946. The words were written in 1947 by Paula von Preradović to an 18th century tune of unknown authorship. A number of possible composers have been suggested, notably Johann Holzer and even Mozart. N.B.: This version uses pre-2012 lyrics. Some words were altered in 2012 to make the song gender-neutral.
