My Search for 3 Lost Silver Miners | The Mohawk Mine Disaster
In 1959, a catastrophic collapse at the Mohawk Mine near Silver Peak, Nevada trapped three miners underground. Despite rescue efforts, Delorme, Roberson, and Sickles were never recovered. More than 65 years later, I traveled into the Silver Peak Mountain Range to search for the location where the tragedy occurred and uncover the story behind one of Nevada's lesser-known mining disasters. Using historical accounts, oral history, and on-the-ground exploration, I attempt to piece together what happened on that fateful day and determine where the three miners may still rest today. Join me as I explore the remains of the Mohawk Mine and investigate a mystery that has remained buried beneath the Nevada desert for decades. 📍 Mohawk Mine – Silver Peak, Nevada 🎥 Filmed by Travis Peters 👍 Like, Subscribe, and Share for more forgotten history, abandoned places, and outdoor adventures. #MohawkMine #NevadaHistory #MiningDisaster #SilverPeak #AbandonedMines #TravisTravels #LostMiners #HistoryMystery #EsmeraldaCounty #silvermines 00:00 Intro & History of the Mohawk Mine 03:40 Searching the Cabins 18:10 Finding the Mine Entrance 29:50 Memorial for the Miners
