Heading Into Houston, TX on Sunset Limited #2 Part 2

This video was shot from the rear of Amtrak Train #2, the eastbound Sunset Limited, as it headed into Houston, TX on July 12th, 2013. Part 2 covers the trip from Memorial Park on Houston's West Side to the Downtown Houston Amtrak Station, a distance of about 7 miles. As a note, since this was shot from inside the car, during the video you can hear some talking by other passengers and myself. The video begins as the train rolls eastward on Main 1 of UP's Terminal Subdivision (Now the Houston Subdivision) through Memorial Park on the west side of Houston. We then cross Interstate 10 and slow down for the big curve at Eureka. We pass Eureka Jct (CP LF370) and Eureka (CP LF369), which form the legs of a wye with UP's Eureka Subdivision, which heads north to Navasota and on towards Dallas and Fort Worth. The yard lead to Eureka Yard also comes into the Terminal Subdivision at Eureka Jct. Soon after we pass Eureka, the conductor comes over the train's loudspeaker to announce our impending arrival to our station stop at Houston and gives a little spiel about Houston and the surrounding area. We then cross Interstate 10 again and continue eastward. Within a few miles we cross the Hot-Box Detector at MP 364.1. Its read-out reports No Defects, that our train has 36 Axles, that we were traveling 38 mph, and that the temperature was 89 degrees. Soon, we reach Chaney Jct (CP LF368), where we leave Main 1 and enter the Main 1 Connector, which is essentially a mile-long crossover between Main 1 and Main 2. Main 1 leaves the view to the right as it runs on a different alignment through the area and does not pass the Amtrak Station. As we get closer to the station, we pass some MOW crews working on Main 2. Shortly thereafter, we pass Depot Jct (CP LF963) and enter Main 2. The video then comes to an end as we arrive at the Houston, TX Amtrak Station at 11:37 AM, 27 minutes late. The train would go on to leave the station on time at 12:10 PM. Thanks for watching!
