What to Expect When You're Having Inpatient Surgery at Duke | Duke Health
You or your loved one has been scheduled for surgery at Duke. Now what? This video provides all the information you may need to put you at ease as you prepare for an upcoming surgery at the main Duke University Hospital or the Children's Health Center. We will provide directions to our facilities and talk about the Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT) visit or phone call, the check-in and admissions process on the day of surgery, and what happens each step of the way until you or your loved one leaves the hospital. We want you to have the best Duke experience possible.
