What to Expect When You're Having Outpatient Surgery at Duke | Duke Health
You or your loved one has been scheduled for surgery at Duke. Now what? This video provides all the information you may need to put you at ease as you prepare for an upcoming surgery at the Ambulatory Surgery Center, Duke Eye Center, Children's Health Center, or the main Duke University Hospital. We will provide directions to our facilities and talk about the Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT) visit or phone call, the check-in process on the day of surgery, and what happens each step of the way until you or your loved one has recovered and is ready to be accompanied home. We want you to have the best Duke experience possible.
