​DEAD CASE: Exploring Manchester's Abandoned Showcase Cinema (Dawn of the Dead Style)

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will Netflix and chill." ​Built in 1989, this abandoned 14-screen multiplex (Showcase Cinema Gorton) is a derelict time capsule—a sun-bleached facade and its original, blockbuster-video-style blocky carpet. This is, hands down, the single creepiest place we've ever explored and my favorite explore to date. Deep within its pitch-black, soundproofed tomb and past walls smeared with what looks like blood, we genuinely felt like we were living in the apocalypse. ​A team of urban explorers stumbles upon a terrifying, chilling legacy. We even bumped into a few other "survivors" and an old friend here. We also found the Master’s spectacles. ​My love of cinema and my passion for horror truly made this little romp into the end of the world a pure joy. DEAD CASE is a claustrophobic, old-school Great British zombie apocalypse film built on pure dread, channeling the raw, visceral terror and unsettling atmosphere of George A. Romero’s Dawn and Day of the Dead. ​Prepare for an extremely unnerving environment and a shocking twist.
