What lessons can we learn from the coronavirus experience? From the perspective of a school principal, I can say that the pandemic has shown us that overcoming it requires study, and therefore school! In this digital age where every answer is just a click away, the questions students ask are: what's the point of studying? What's the point of culture? In my talk, I'll try to help you relive the "first day of school" by offering some insights into the importance of school, the role of teachers, and that of students. Gianluca Dradi was born and lives in Ravenna. Immediately after graduating in Law, he briefly served as a university assistant in the Department of Labor Law. From 1990 to 2012, he practiced law. In the 1990s, he presided over a social cooperative providing services for young people and minors, and from 1999 to May 2006, he served as president of a public consortium that manages social services. From 2006 to 2011, he served as a councilor for the city of Ravenna. In 2012, he left the legal profession to become a school principal. As an expert on school law, he writes articles for industry magazines and works as a trainer, fueling public debate on social and educational issues.
