NEO-DADA | Video #5 Contemporary Art in the second half of the 20th century. An overview of the emergence of Neo-Dada, an avant-garde art movement that developed in the United States in the late 1950s through the work of artists such as John Cage, John Chamberlain, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Edward Kienholz e Robert Rauschenberg. This video focuses on the main protagonists of the movement, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, who placed the banal and discarded object at the center of their artistic research and took up some key elements of historical Dadaism, such as appropriation, decontextualisation and assemblage of materials and images, and contamination between different artistic disciplines.
