Rothko a Firenze

In this video, I take you with me to discover "Rothko in Florence," the major exhibition dedicated to Mark Rothko hosted at Palazzo Strozzi and complemented by a fascinating dialogue with the Museo di San Marco. This is not just a simple guided tour. It's a journey through the work of one of the most important artists of the twentieth century, but also a personal story of encounters, memories, and sensations that Rothko has left behind over the years. During the visit, two experiences that shaped my relationship with this artist resurface: a major retrospective at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome and the encounter with the famous Seagram Murals at the Tate Modern in London. Three cities, three different moments in life, united by the same question: what really happens when we stop before a Rothko work? Through his colors, his silences, and his spiritual quest, we will try to understand why his works continue to move and question those who observe them today. Places visited: • Palazzo Strozzi, Florence • Museo di San Marco, Florence • Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome (personal memory) • Tate Modern, London (personal memory) If you enjoyed the video, leave a comment telling me about your experience with Rothko or contemporary art. Enjoy!
