CIRCLE Of TIME ( The Border Itself )

There are nations that study history. Hungarians live inside it. A thousand years have not passed over the Carpathian Basin — they have settled into it. Absorbed into the soil, the rivers, the language. From the Magyar conquest through the Mongol invasion, the Ottoman occupation, the failed revolution of 1848, and the devastation of the 20th century — every era left a mark, and every mark is still alive. A sword flashing in the mist and a rifle barrel in a square belong to different centuries, but they cast the same shadow. The same frozen sky. Circle of Time is not the song of a single hero or a single battle. It is the frame for everything that follows. But this song carries one line that is not a metaphor — it is a diagnosis. This is the only country that borders itself. On June 4, 1920, the Treaty of Trianon redrew the map of Central Europe. Hungary lost two-thirds of its territory and two-thirds of its population. Overnight, more than three million ethnic Hungarians found themselves living outside the new borders — in Romania, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia — without moving a single step. Hungarian villages, Hungarian cities, Hungarian mothers and fathers woke up in foreign countries. The border did not separate Hungary from other nations. It separated Hungarians from Hungarians. From that day forward, Hungary has bordered itself. Its wound is not a neighbour — it is its own reflection, cut in half and placed just beyond reach. A nation whose past lives on the other side of its own frontier. This is why the chorus cannot let go of the line. This is why it keeps returning — because the wound was never allowed to close. The songs of the Legendák album are stations on this circle: Emese's dream, the wake of the Wonder Stag, the price of the white horse, Koppány's last words. Different eras, different faces — but the same earth, the same wound, the same question: who are you, and what does your past demand of you? There is no answer. Only the circle continues. 🎼 Symphonic Cold — Legendák album Dark Electro | EBM | Orchestral | Saxophone | Choir 📖 Learn more: Treaty of Trianon — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_...
