Jeep Wrangler JK Power Steering Pump and Pulley Replacement

Originally posted January 6, 2018 I couldn’t find a good ‘how-to’ video for replacing a JKU steering pump so I decided to make this one. There are plenty of videos that show how to use the AutoZone rental pump pulley puller tool, which is a good thing because the front of my pulley actually broke using the tool. That unexpectedly caused a 2 week delay while I waited for a new pulley. Hopefully this video is useful to show you how I went about replacing my pump (and pulley). I didn’t do a complete flush of the steering fluid but I did purge as much out as I could, which I also show in the video. Don’t forget to use ATF+4 fluid. Do NOT use ‘power steering fluid’ in these JK steering systems!
