Twenty years ago, a peaceful vacation for the Fernández Salguero family—a wealthy couple and their young daughter, Clodine—became the beginning of a story of love, hate, and lies. The return trip to Buenos Aires turns tragic when the jet carrying the family and their servants—the Benítez couple and their young daughter, Lorena Beatriz—suffers a technical failure and crashes in the middle of the jungle. The only survivors are the servants and the two little girls. The Benítezes, realizing that Clodine/Asaí will be orphaned, decide to abandon her in the middle of the jungle, return to Buenos Aires, and give their little daughter, Lorena Beatriz, to Amanda Fernández Salguero, telling her she is her granddaughter, thus ensuring a promising future for her little daughter. Twenty years later, Clodine has grown into a proud and superficial young woman immersed in a world of luxury. But their luck will change when the newspapers announce the least expected headline: a young woman known as "The Jungle Girl" has managed to survive for twenty years in the jungle, raised by monkeys. Upon hearing the news, Amanda decides to bring the young woman named Asaí to live with her, as her story reminds her of the tragic accident in which she lost her son and daughter-in-law. From then on, the Benítezes will be anxious to ensure that their secret is not revealed and that the girls' true identities are finally revealed. But Asaí and Clodine will not only be united by a shared past, nor will they clash solely for Amanda's love, but also for that of Lucas Linares, a handsome young professor. Clodine will soon fall in love with Lucas and, stubbornly, will try to win his love by any means necessary. However, he will notice Asaí and embark on the task of teaching her how to behave like "a lady." The connection between the two becomes evident, and little by little, separating them becomes Clodine's sole objective. Luján marries Lucas, but later, upon discovering that her husband doesn't really love her, she begins to go crazy and attempts to commit countless evil deeds against Asaí.
