49. Lets Make Glaze : 02 Preparation is key..... test tile production underway!

In order to have reliable tests I'm needing some consistent test tiles. These need to be a similar size and weight & more importantly which fit inside my new sterifeed tubes, which I will be using to dip my tiles. I will be weighing how much glaze is on each test tile when dipping so its advisable to have similar size and weight test tiles. My current stocks f test tiles are too big so first task is to make new modified test-tiles. These took about a week to dry as its so cold in the UK currently and then bisque fired. Step 1 complete...next its time to mix up my glazes....... :) I'm using a stoneware cream clay which is from Valentines Clay in the UK, called Millennium Clay. Versatile for both throwing and hand building. Ive tried to make test tiles on the wheel but found they don't suit how I like to store them on a test tile wall in my studio. However I realised when editing this video I now have some perfect textured wheels which would be so much quicker to use on my next batch of test tiles.
