84. Frozen Pond First Attempt! OMG!!!!!! Kiln Opening - Mega Shocked!
Forgot to upload this before Christmas! Apologies! Despite seeing so many results for 'Frozen Pond' results all over social media, I never expected my first attempt to be so successful! Huge credit to Kathy McGuire for inspiring us globally with her fabulous application and glaze combo @klm4655 Loving using Blaze, my new larger kiln for glaze firings but I'm finding the filming so much harder with the bigger aperture of the kiln LOL! So in January I'm going to revert initially back to a single camera, front facing and see how I get on. I've had mixed feedback about which camera angle people prefer - dual or single, but I think the practicalities may dictate the answer for me LOL Apologies I've uploaded this out of sequence - this was filmed first days of December before my small craft fayre on 9th December. Sadly ill health had puddled my brain and I was unable to edit & focus on a screen, but a shame not to post my first frozen pond result! Had to edit out a few segments when I had bursts of pain - so apologies if its not flowing very well. I'll focus now on some mini reels on my Instagram and include all the combos I used. Such a subtle difference considering there were three different glazes combos used, and all with the same pattern and application using sponges. Cant quite decide which I prefer! Platters made with Hartley and Noble Stacker System, which attach to my H&N Bat System. An absolute dream to work with @hartleyandnoble Shout outs to the fabulous Sarah Amos @thepotterycorner for stealing her line - 'the sneakiest of sneaky peaks' ; Nat @mudmagic407 for the inspiration and encouragement to delve into Celadons.....finally and for using her 'Kiln Favourite' concept! ;Sarah Walton @SarahWaltonPottery for the idea to add Alumina Hydrate (although I used Silica Sand) to my wax. Oh and not forgetting Joe @OldForgeCreations who has inspired me to pluck up the courage to make my own glazes and cant thank him enough for his recipes and sharing of fabulous insight into the process. Anyways - enough of my waffling..... Sending warm wishes to everyone, near and far. Happy Holiday Guys www.farforestceramics.com
