OIL PAINTING TIMELAPSE || Letting my hand paint what it wants - "Disorient"
This painting was the result of a late night urge to paint something without the pressure of it being perfect. After many nights of feeling stuck in a cycle of wanting to paint a lot of things but being too afraid to start, I decided I was just going to paint something quickly and without expectations - I didn't even know if I was going to show it to anyone. It was all about not thinking too much and staying relaxed. Tried to keep my brushstrokes pretty loose and not get too focused on the details (seems to be my main goal a lot nowadays) and it was really freeing. I loved the blues and playing around with the tones in the skin and scratching out paint wherever my hand decided it wanted to. It was quick and satisfying, and once I found a stopping point, I decided that's where I'd leave it. There's things I would change now that I look back on it, but I'll keep those notes for the next painting :) I'm curious, what are the feelings you get from this piece? Is there a story you get from it? I'd love to hear everyone's perspectives!
